The Foundation
Real Madrid's origins trace back to 1902. In 1920, King Alfonso XIII bestowed the title "Real" (Royal) upon the club. The club won its first league title in 1932.
The Bernabéu & Di Stéfano Era
Santiago Bernabéu became president in 1943, building the new stadium. With Di Stéfano, the club won 5 consecutive European Cups (1956-1960), becoming a global powerhouse.
The Ye-yé Team
Dominated Spanish football with 8 league titles and won the 6th European Cup in 1966 with a team composed entirely of Spanish players.
La Quinta del Buitre
Led by Emilio Butragueño, this homegrown generation won 5 consecutive La Liga titles and 2 UEFA Cups, playing spectacular attacking football.
Return to European Glory
After a 32-year wait, Real Madrid won "La Séptima" (7th European Cup) in 1998 and the 8th in 2000.
The Galácticos I
Florentino Pérez's presidency brought stars like Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo, and Beckham. Won the 9th Champions League in 2002 with Zidane's famous volley.
The CR7 Era & Three-peat
Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival sparked a golden age. Under Ancelotti and Zidane, the club won "La Décima" (2014) and then three consecutive Champions Leagues (2016-2018).
Modern Dominance
Continued success with the 14th and 15th Champions League titles. The renovation of the Santiago Bernabéu sets the stage for the future.
